Admission is absolutely free

3. How are the dates chosen for the shows?
The flea market runs for 9 days, always beginning on the 2nd Saturday of that month and running through the following weekend, ending on Sunday. It is the same weekend as the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Shoot.

4. How long is the market open each day of the show?
Friendship booths opens daily at 9:00 a.m. Vendors shut down for the day anywhere from 7-9 p.m.

5. Does Friendship have food vendors?
Our food vendors serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and generally stay open until at least 9 in the evening, with a few staying open during the nightly bonfires.

8. Is there Handicap access?
We have handicapped parking and easy accesibility as all roads are paved within the actual market. We can issue "Special Vehicle Permits" for handicapped usage.

9. What is the cost to rent a vendor space?
Outside Spaces - 20' x 20'
Inside Spaces - 10' x 10'
$180.00 for 9 days or

11. As a vendor, are there restrictions on awning stakes?
No Awning stakes longer than 18" are to be used.

12. Can I bring my pet to Friendship?
If you must bring a pet, please see that your pet does not harass or threaten other people or animals. Exercise must be done on a leash (NO LOOSE ANIMALS) and owners MUST CLEAN UP after the animals.

13. What type of bathroom facilities are there?
Restrooms and Showers are available in two buildings, one on the lower end and one located midway above the first. Porta-potties are situated in various places on the grounds. Please help keep these areas clean. Garbage pickup is daily in the early mornings. The sanitation company comes to the flea market on Monday and Thursday. You may have your RV pumped for $15.

14. Can I walk around and sell items?
No. Anyone selling items at the flea market must be registered with the Main Office. You may not take advantage of the market atmosphere by selling items if you are not a regsitered vendor. This includes animal sales.

15. Can I bring a bicycle, skateboard, rollerblades, or scooter?
No, only vehicles registered at the Main Office may use the black-topped streets. Please restrain children from using these items as it is unsafe in large crowds like Friendship.

16. What else is there to do at Friendship when the booths close for the day?
We have nightly campfires with live music from Dale Hill and the Whiskey River Band. Join us in a dance from 9pm-midnight.
Additionally, there are live auctions held near the main entrance in the evenings. Please call 812.667.5645 the week of the show for the schedule.

18. Will I be able to get cell phone service or internet access at Friendship?
Friendship is in a rural valley and therefore many cannot get cell service here. Some people with Verizon have luck standing on our hill. We have pay phones available if you need to call out.
We do have internet access available for purchase at the Field Office on Kerr Hollow. There are 2 computers available for use. Those rates are $3 for 15 minutes or $5 for 30 minutes. If you have your own laptop, you can purchase wireless access at $7 a day or $30 for the week. Otherwise, you will have to drive to the Dillsboro library for internet or to the Aurora library for wireless. |
